Application deadline: Monday, June 23rd, 2025
Participants announced: Week of July 1st, 2025

Masterclass Descriptions
  • Introduction of a Piece (Melissa Trevino Keylock): How to introduce a piece meeting the students where they are at in musically and emotionally meaningful ways, building aural and musical literacy as appropriate for the culture or genre.
  • Rehearsal Pedagogy (Coty Raven Morris): After the introduction of the music, implementing rehearsal techniques that bridge from aural and notation-based literacy to polishing a piece using gesture as a tool as well as limiting teacher talk
  • Gesture (Diana Sáez): Polishing a musical selection, with a focus on developing gesture technique.
