Heather Baird received her BM in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and her MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Connecticut. She has taught all grade levels in several school districts in New York State including Broadalbin-Perth, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Shenendehowa, where she currently teaches choral ensembles and vocal lessons at High Schools East and West. Heather is a member of the national organizations Music Educators National Conference, American Choral Directors Association, The National Association of Teachers of Singing, and The Voice Care Network. She was awarded the Artist-Teacher Diploma from Dr. Doreen Rao’s Choral Music Experience in 1997. Heather holds National Board Certification in Secondary Vocal Music which represents professional recognition of achievement of the highest standards for teaching. Heather is the choir director at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Colonie, NY, is a long-time member of Albany Pro Musica, and is active as a guest conductor for local All-County Festivals. She is a certified NYSSMA All-State vocal adjudicator and has appeared as a soloist with Albany Pro Musica, the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society, the Catskill Choral Society, the Mendelssohn Club and other local community and church choirs.
